O.K., so I'm in my room, listening to music and playing solitaire on the computer, right? And my dad comes in and he's all: "Son, are you interested in going to Canada with your aunts, four other lesbian aunts and their nephews?"
Now in all honesty, I wasn't paying any attention whatsoever to my dad. What
I heard was: "Son, are you blah blah blah blah blah." I thought he was asking me to feed the cat.
"Yeah, Dad, of course."
The next thing I know I'm on the phone with my aunt and she's talking about Canada. I didn't want to sound stupid, so I just went with it.
"So has your dad asked you about Canada?"
"Uh, yeah, yeah, he did. Um, I'm really excited."
"So you read the manual on our orca adventure trip?"
(What the heck is an orca?)
"Oh, I mean, uh yeah, of course. I read it like five times. I'm ready to go. Bye."
I hung up the phone and walked into my dad's room.
"What did you just get me into?" I asked.
He told me I'd better sit down.
